Sister Lucy Kurien is founder and director of the interfaith community, Maher.  This community, begun in 1997 in
Pune, India, has helped over 2,000 women and children rise out of poverty and abusive situations into joyous and
independent lives.  It’s a home for battered and destitute women and children that provides safety, hope, comfort, understanding, love, and belonging.  Sister Lucy will be speaking in Burlington at UVM’s Trinity Campus, Mann Hall, on Tuesday, September 25th at 12:30 PM.  She will also speak at the Unitarian Universalist Church at the top of the Church Street Marketplace at 5:30 PM on Sept. 25. These events are free, however, donations for Lucy for the Maher community are sought.  To learn more about Maher, see www.maherashram.org/maher.html
